2025 Ron Edmonds Scholarship Winners

On Thursday, March 20, Rich Township High School proudly participated in the 2025 Ron Edmonds Scholarship Banquet, hosted by the Superintendent's Commission for the Study of Demographics and Diversity (SCSDD). The event marked a significant milestone in the district’s efforts to promote student achievement and access to higher education.

During the evening, 25 Rich Township scholars were awarded scholarships; Gabrielle Agnew, Malachi Amos, Micah Amos, Kamari Beatty, Ikee Brooks, Mickael Byrd, Jason Carey, Makayla Charles, Quentin Clark, Miguel Dixon, Demetrius Hardy, Brooklyn Howard, Kahmari James, Kobe Johnson, Sincere Kelly, Tonnie Kimmons, Aidan Lendabarker, Nicole Lindo, La’Nea Lockridge, Amber McPhearson, Louis McWilliams, Jesstin Pinkston, Cymbre Robinson, Anuoluwapo Salami, Ashad Smith, LaVe’la Tatekey, Hay’lee Young, and one student received a full-ride scholarship to Tougaloo College, a Historically Black College with a legacy of developing leaders and change-makers; Morgan Williams.

In partnership with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the Superintendent's Commission also announced that nearly $250,000 in scholarships were awarded during the banquet, with the cumulative impact now exceeding $400,000 raised this year alone. Combined with the full scholarships awarded through Tougaloo College, UNCF and SCSDD have surpassed the $1 million mark in total scholarships awarded over the past three years.

"This honor reflects not only their individual efforts but also the incredible power of our community when we come together to support and uplift one another. Together, we are creating a brighter future for our students and inspiring the next generation of leaders."

The Ron Edmonds Scholarship Banquet continues to serve as a vital platform for creating life-changing opportunities for Rich Township students, reinforcing the district’s mission of empowering young people to thrive in college and beyond.
