December 6, 2024 Dear Rich Township Families, As we enter December, the excitement of the season reminds us of the incredible journey we’ve taken together this semester. With only a few weeks remaining before winter break, I want to express my gratitude for the hard work and commitment of our students, staff, and families. This is a pivotal time to reflect on our shared accomplishments and maintain momentum as we close out the semester on a high note. Click here for the Weekly Update Video 2nd Quarter Academic Approach Assessment (Grades 9-11) On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, students in Grades 9-11 will participate in their second Academic Approach assessment that will take approximately one hour. This will mimic a shortened ACT and help teachers provide targeted support and adjust instruction and allow students to see progress from their first quarter assessment. After the assessment, students will follow a modified schedule. We will still follow the same start and end time for December 11, 2024. • Late Start: Testing begins at 9:25 AM, and the school day concludes at 3:20 PM. • Students must bring a charged Chromebook. • Seniors will have dedicated senior sessions during this time. Course Selection The window for course selection in PowerSchool will begin on December 9 and closes on December 27. This is an opportunity for students and parents to view the course catalog and make class selections for the 2025-2026 school year. The selections that students make will guide conversations that each student will have with their counselor in January. During this time, teachers will also make recommendations for students to challenge themselves by taking more rigorous courses. Each campus will have a plethora of opportunities for students to learn about all of our programs and robust course offerings in Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Academies, Early College Opportunities, and our Career & Technical Education (CTE) Offerings. Please use the links provided to access the curriculum handbook and the directions for course selection in PowerSchool. 2025-2026 Curriculum Handbook Course Selection Screens Upcoming Fine Arts Performances The holiday season is the perfect time to enjoy the incredible talents of our Fine Arts students! Mark your calendars for the upcoming performances: the Choir Concert on Tuesday, December 10th, starting at 6:00 PM; the Winter Showcase on Thursday, December 12th, featuring a gallery walk from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM and performances beginning at 6:30 PM; and the Band Concert on Friday, December 13th, starting at 7:00 PM.
